Royal Enfield Unveils Himalayan 750 with 743cc Engine and Upgrades

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 has been officially launched, showcasing a significant upgrade in its engine specifications. This motorcycle is powered by a 743cc, air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine, which delivers an output of 55 bhp at 7,000 rpm and a peak torque of 63 Nm at 5,000 rpm. Notably, 90 per cent of the torque is accessible from as low as 3,500 rpm, enhancing its performance across various riding conditions. The engine is coupled with a six-speed gearbox and features a wet multi-plate clutch, ensuring smooth gear transitions.

This model marks a considerable increase in displacement compared to its predecessors, which included the 411cc single-cylinder engine of the original Himalayan and the 452cc engine found in the Himalayan 450. The Himalayan 750 represents Royal Enfield’s first venture into this larger engine category, following the recent reintroduction of the original Himalayan with a 440cc engine.

Chassis and Suspension Features

The Himalayan 750 is constructed on a robust box-section spine frame complemented by pressed-steel outriggers, with the engine acting as a stressed member. The suspension system features 43mm Showa upside-down front forks, which offer adjustable damping, compression, and rebound settings, providing 190mm of wheel travel. At the rear, the motorcycle is equipped with a Showa monoshock that allows for adjustable preload and rebound, offering 175mm of travel.

Braking performance is managed by twin 280mm front discs paired with two-piston callipers and a 255mm rear disc. The motorcycle is fitted with dual-channel ABS, which includes a switchable rear ABS feature, along with cornering ABS and lean-sensitive traction control. The wheel configuration consists of a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, both designed to accommodate tubeless tyres. Buyers can opt for either cast-alloy or spoked wheel variants.

In terms of dimensions, the Himalayan 750 boasts a ground clearance of 205mm, a seat height of 815mm, and a wheelbase measuring 1,522mm. The kerb weight is recorded at 224 kg, and the fuel tank has a capacity of 17.8 litres. Additionally, the motorcycle can support a payload capacity of 194 kg.

Advanced Features and Technology

While maintaining the rugged, adventure-oriented character of the Himalayan series, the 750 introduces an array of technological enhancements. It includes five distinct riding modes: Road, Road Sport, Rain, Trail, and Custom, which adjust engine mapping, ABS, and traction control settings according to the rider’s preferences. This versatility aims to improve the riding experience across various terrains.

Among its technological features, the Himalayan 750 is equipped with a six-axis IMU, cruise control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The motorcycle’s 4-inch circular TFT instrument console offers Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, integrated navigation, and controls for phone and music functions. Additionally, it features dual Type-C USB ports, including a 27W fast-charging option.

The lighting system includes a new 7-inch LED headlamp, and the turn indicators are designed with a self-cancelling function. To enhance safety, it also features an emergency brake lamp. For touring purposes, the Himalayan 750 comes with a five-position adjustable windscreen, which allows for up to 60mm of adjustment, along with independent rider and pillion seats.

Availability and Pricing Information

The Himalayan 750 is set to make its Indian debut at the Motoverse event towards the end of November 2026. The anticipated price range for this motorcycle is estimated to be between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be available in five colour options: Antarctic Silver, Siberia White, Viking Bronze, Aztec Green, and Tectonic Black.

The Antarctic Silver variant will be positioned as the premium option, featuring a touring package that includes a GIVI top box, hard panniers, mounting hardware, inner bags, heated grips, hand guards, and an aluminium skid plate. Other colour options will provide buyers with the choice of either cast-alloy or spoked wheels, depending on the selected variant.
