M3M India Refutes House Arrest Claims by Trump Tower Resident

The CSR Journal Magazine

M3M India, the real estate developer behind the Trump Tower project located in Gurugram, has refuted claims made by resident Varun Suhag regarding his alleged house arrest. Suhag had asserted that he and his family were confined to their apartment due to lift inaccessibility. In an official statement released to India Today Digital, M3M clarified that the resident was never prohibited from leaving his apartment or accessing common areas within the building.

The builder explained that the lift restrictions mentioned by Suhag were part of a security protocol implemented during ongoing interior work. M3M stated that direct lift access to Suhag’s floor had been restored. The company described the narrative circulating on social media as misleading and a misrepresentation of the actual circumstances.

Details of the Lift Situation

On November 1, Suhag, who resides on the 36th floor of Trump Towers in Sector 65, shared videos online detailing the challenges he and his family faced regarding lift access. He accused the developer of limiting their movement by disabling the lift access to their floor. In response, M3M asserted that the lifts remained operational and could be summoned from all other floors, maintaining that the apartment was served by two primary elevators.

M3M further clarified that both staircases, designated as fire and emergency exits, were always accessible, ensuring that no emergency or safety facilities were restricted. The builder indicated that the lift access arrangement applied uniformly to apartments where residents had not yet moved in, as a measure to manage the flow of workers involved in the ongoing fit-out works.

The company noted that with over 200 workers entering the tower daily for interior fit-out projects commissioned by homeowners, the lift calling system was limited to occupied apartments. This decision aimed to regulate worker movement across residential floors and safeguard the privacy and security of families already residing in the tower.

Further Clarifications from M3M

Suhag also expressed concerns regarding access through the service area, which he claimed was still under construction. However, M3M reiterated that the apartment had two main elevators and that staircases remained accessible for residents. The builder emphasised that residents were not required to use the service area to reach their homes, reiterating that the lift arrangement was solely intended to control worker movement during the ongoing fit-out work.

M3M indicated that Suhag had been informed of the lift arrangements via an email dated October 3, 2026. This communication explained that floor-level lift access was enabled only for occupied apartments and stated that the Lift Operating Panel serving his apartment would be activated once he was prepared to move in. The company confirmed that direct lift access from his floor has now been restored.

Additionally, M3M mentioned that approximately 50 families were already residing in the tower without any issues, benefiting from services provided by Roseate, a five-star hospitality chain. The company affirmed that the comfort, security, and daily living experience of residents remain paramount to the tower’s operations. M3M concluded by stating that the claims of house arrest were a misrepresentation of standard security measures and that their team was available to address any concerns raised by Varun Suhag.
