Amid the ongoing spree of murder, where wife kills husband with help of lover another such case had made it to the headlines. The chilling incident has come to light from Jharkhand’s Ranchi district. The Ranchi Police have arrested a woman and her partner in connection with the alleged murder. Both the woman and her lover were arrested for the murder of her husband.

The body of the victim was found on the Mauvanajara-Simalbeda road in the Pithoria area of Ranchi. The horrifying incident took place on August 21 and is believed to have been the result of a long-standing extramarital relationship.

Affair Behind the Crime, Say Police

The accused, identified as Geeta Devi and Irfan Ansari, were taken into custody after investigators linked them to the death of Geeta’s husband, Lumba Oraon. According to the police, Geeta and Irfan had been in a relationship for nearly eight years a relationship that Oraon strongly opposed. For the past year and a half, Geeta had reportedly been living with Irfan.

Victim Allegedly Drugged and Strangled

On August 20, Oraon had arrived at Kanke Agriculture Gate, where Irfan picked him up. Police say Irfan then made Oraon consume alcohol laced with intoxicants and also mixed drugs into a milk-based drink. Once Oraon lost consciousness, Irfan allegedly strangled him inside a car and later dumped the body on a deserted road.

Police investigations revealed that Geeta had installed a CCTV camera in her husband’s home to monitor his activities. The surveillance system was arranged through Irfan, who also had access to the footage via his mobile phone. Authorities believe this was part of the couple’s planning to eliminate Oraon.

Evidence Seized by Police

During the investigation, police recovered several crucial items including the vehicle used in the crime, a motorcycle, mobile phones of both accused, SIM cards, an empty sleeping pill packet, a bottle of alcohol, and two boxes of milk-based drinks. Ranchi Police stated that further investigation is ongoing.

Weeks ago, a 29-year-old man, Yousuf Khan, was allegedly murdered by his wife Tabassum and her lover Danish in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh. Police revealed that the accused tied his hands, fatally stabbed him in the stomach. As if murder weren’t enough the accused wife poured acid on the victim’s body, and later set it on fire. His body was dumped near an abandoned brick kiln in Kasganj district.

Recently Jaipur Police arrested a woman, her lover, and his friend for the murder of her husband. The trio allegedly plotted the crime after watching crime shows like CID and web series to avoid detection. The victim, 35-year-old Manoj Kumar Raigar, was found earlier this month lying in a pool of blood near a football ground in Jaipur. His throat had been slit with a sharp object.
