A very shocking incident has come to light from Gujarat’s Rajkot district. A 14-year-old boy named Badal Santoshbhai Thakur lost his life after a very unusual incident occurred. The boy was hit by a plastic water bottle thrown from a moving train. The alleged incident occurred near the Shapar-Veraval railway tracks on Monday.
The incident took place on the same day as the Eid holiday and celebrations were on full swing in the nation. According to initial findings Badal was playing with a friend near the railway tracks. Suddenly a bottle struck him in full force, causing severe injuries.
What happened?
14-year-old Badal and his friend were playing in a nearby garden before wandering towards the railway tracks. As both the kids reached near the railway lines, a passenger threw a full water bottle out of the first coach. The passenger was aboard the Veraval-Bandra Terminus train.
According to reports the bottle struck Badal in the chest with such force that he instantly lost consciousness. Evenafter the paramedics quickly arrived at the scene, Badal was pronounced dead.
Investigation Underway
Following the incident the Shapar police registered a case of accidental death. Furthermore, the police have also sent the boy’s body for a forensic post-mortem report. The body was sent to Rajkot Civil Hospital to determine the root cause of Badal’s death.
Meanwhile, authorities are investigating if the impact of the bottle caused the fatal injuries. The police are also looking if the boy may have suffered a cardiac arrest due to the shock of the incident.
Shapar police are working day in and day out to identify the individual who threw the bottle from the moving train. The act of recklessness has prompted concerns about safety and the need for stronger measures to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
Victim’s Family Background
Reports suggest that Badal lived with his family in the Shantidham area of Shapar Veraval in Rajkot. He was the only son of his parents. His family had roots in Madhya Pradesh but had been residing in Gujarat for the past two years. His father ran a fabric business in Rajkot for over two decades. The family’s grief has been compounded by the sudden loss of their beloved son.
