This incident occurred shortly after another customer reported a similar experience at PAUL’s Gurugram outlet, where they found a worm in a sandwich.

Vinod Tilekar, the Pune resident, explained that he had visited the PAUL bakery located in Phoenix Mall, Viman Nagar, a few months earlier and had opted for a takeaway order. According to Tilekar, upon inspecting the item, he discovered a worm inside the pastry. He took to Twitter to share the footage of this unsettling find.

No official response has yet been provided by the PAUL outlet in Pune regarding Tilekar’s alarming discovery. The incident highlights growing concerns regarding food safety in the establishment’s Indian branches.

Previous Incident in Gurugram

This recent event follows a report from another customer, Sulabh Mathur, who visited PAUL’s One Horizon Centre outlet in Gurugram on August 21, 2026. Mathur, along with friends, ordered several dishes, including a sandwich, during their breakfast visit. Later, he noticed a live worm moving within the bread after they had consumed part of their meal.

Mathur recorded the incident, capturing the reactions of everyone at the table, who appeared shocked and dismayed. He subsequently shared the video on social media, tagging PAUL in his post, which quickly garnered attention.

In response to the growing public outrage, PAUL India issued a statement on Instagram, asserting their commitment to food safety and hygiene. The statement maintained that the incident reported at their Gurugram location does not reflect the standards they aim to uphold, outlining their dedication to maintaining rigorous food safety and compliance procedures.
