Pune Businessman Fabricates Immigration Issue To Conceal Trip With Woman

The CSR Journal Magazine

A businessman from Pune reportedly went missing after arriving at Mumbai’s international airport, prompting his wife to file a kidnapping FIR. The individual, aged 46, had initially described his trip as a business matter, but it emerged that he was travelling with a female friend.

According to police sources, the businessman operates a laundry business and was supposed to fly to Kuala Lumpur on September 14. However, complications arose when officials identified that his companion was using an old passport, which she had previously reported as lost.

With his travel plans thwarted and concerns that his wife might discover the nature of his trip, he allegedly created a story about facing immigration issues. This decision led him to cancel the flight abruptly and switch off his mobile device.

Details Surrounding the Alleged Incident

The police investigation revealed that the businessman, along with his companion, left the airport and headed to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus after the immigration department halted her passage. Before departing the airport, he reportedly called his wife using a landline to inform her that he had to relinquish his mobile phone due to immigration problems.

On the following day, he managed to contact his wife via a WhatsApp video call, reiterating the same claims regarding the immigration issues he faced. However, after this communication, his phone became unreachable, which caused his wife to grow increasingly worried.

As a result of her concerns, she approached the police on Wednesday to report her husband missing, leading to the filing of a kidnapping FIR based on her concerns for his safety.

Businessman Admits To Fabrication

Later that evening, upon learning about his wife’s police complaint, the businessman attended Sahar police station where he confessed to fabricating the entire immigration-related story. The police stated that his actions stemmed from a fear of potential legal issues and the possibility of his wife discovering his trip with another woman.

The police indicated that they plan to submit a “C Summary” closure report to the court within a two-week timeframe. This classification is typically used in cases where a complaint arises from a genuine misunderstanding or is determined to be not entirely accurate.

This incident has drawn attention to the lengths individuals may go to conceal personal affairs, especially when intertwined with travel and relationships outside of marriage. Investigators are continuing to gather more details regarding the situation while noting the man’s cooperation with authorities upon his return.
