The CSR Journal Magazine

Piramal Finance has made a significant social impact during the financial year 2026, benefiting over 113 million individuals across 28 states and 2 Union Territories. This information was reported in the company’s latest annual review. The firm dedicated approximately Rs 22.5 crore to various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives throughout the year. Their targeted efforts encompass essential sectors such as education, healthcare, and water sanitation, all grounded in its major thematic platforms.

Flagship Programmes and Educational Initiatives

The company’s CSR activities are organized through four primary platforms: Aspirational Bharat Collaborative, Digital Bharat Collaborative, Inclusive Bharat Collaborative, and the Piramal School of Leadership. These initiatives in education helped in the establishment of over 5,000 demonstration schools across 15 states, resulting in a noticeable 20 per cent increase in mathematics and language learning outcomes among students. Furthermore, the Panchayat for Education programme effectively reached 3.13 lakh students, while also focusing on the training of 39,766 education leaders and enhancing 900 Anganwadi Centres to promote early childhood education.

In healthcare, the Piramal Foundation operated 131 Mobile Medical Units and 36 static clinics, serving around 8,000 patients daily in 16 states. By the end of FY2026, these facilities had achieved a total of 14,48,644 clinic visits. Additionally, dedicated health helplines in Assam and Bihar together attended to 6,17,152 beneficiaries. The Foundation’s ambitious AMRIT platform, which is an open-source Electronic Health Records system recognized as a Digital Public Good, successfully generated over 25 million health records from more than 110 digitised healthcare facilities.

Furthermore, targeted efforts to support tribal communities were offered by the Inclusive Bharat Collaborative, which operated in 177 districts. This initiative trained 12,210 TB Champions and educated 1,515 Gram Panchayats on the TB-Free Village initiative, which aims to combat tuberculosis effectively. In Madhya Pradesh, the efforts resulted in government certification for five labour room facilities, ensuring quality healthcare for mothers and infants.

Water and Financial Literacy Initiatives

In terms of water management, more than 200 Village Water and Sanitation Committees were established across various districts. Notably, a community planning effort in Ranchi generated Rs 1.6 crore in government funding for infrastructure improvements related to water and sanitation. The report emphasizes that these actions contribute significantly to enhancing the conditions of local communities and promoting sustainability.

Moreover, the company reached over 7.4 crore individuals through a range of financial literacy programmes delivered via both digital and on-ground methods. This initiative connects the financial inclusion strategy of Piramal Finance directly to its community-focused work, showcasing a holistic approach to upliftment.

The Piramal Foundation operates with a team of more than 5,000 professionals and aims to create a sustainable impact. The Foundation describes its operational model as system-strengthening rather than mere project delivery, striving to empower government institutions and local communities to independently maintain the outcomes achieved through these initiatives.
