Oman to Release March Salaries Early Ahead of Eid Al Fitr

The CSR Journal Magazine

In anticipation of Eid Al Fitr 1447 AH, Oman has announced an early release of salaries for public and private sector employees. Authorities have mandated that both government entities and private companies expedite their salary payments to assist workers in preparing for the festival. The initiative is designed to enhance the financial well-being of employees ahead of the celebrations. Various ministries have established precise timelines for payroll processing and payments.

The Ministry of Finance has issued Circular No. 1/2026, which instructs all government entities to accelerate the salary processing of employees within the State’s Administrative Apparatus. The circular specifies deadlines that must be adhered to by ministries and governmental units to ensure timely disbursement of salaries and pensions for the month of March.

According to the provisions of the circular, March 8, 2026, has been set as the last date for ministries and governmental bodies to finalize payroll data within their Human Resources systems. Subsequently, internal audit units are tasked with completing the review and approval of salary payment vouchers within the Unified Financial System by March 15, 2026. Upon completion of these steps, the official date designated for the release of March salaries and pensions is March 17, 2026.

In addition to the directives from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Labour has released a separate circular specifically aimed at private sector establishments that operate under the Labour Law (Royal Decree No. 53/2023). This circular instructs employers to expedite wage payments for their employees in light of the upcoming Eid Al Fitr holiday.

Employers have been directed to ensure that wages for March 2026 are deposited by Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the latest. The Ministry of Labour has underscored the necessity for companies to adhere to this timeline in order to assist employees in managing their financial obligations during the holiday season.

The Ministry of Labour’s announcement highlights the critical need for timely wage payments due to the approaching Eid Al Fitr celebrations. The directive emphasizes that all private sector establishments governed by the Labour Law must ensure that employees receive their March salaries ahead of the specified cutoff to facilitate financial readiness for the festival.

By implementing clear deadlines for both public and private sector employers, Omani authorities aim to secure timely salary disbursements for workers, thus enabling families across Oman to prepare for Eid Al Fitr without any financial hindrances.
