Nurse Allegedly Murdered by Lover Over Marriage Pressure

The CSR Journal Magazine

A 25-year-old nurse was found dead in an operating theatre at MCC Hospital in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, reportedly murdered by her lover after he allegedly faced pressure to marry her. Police stated that the accused mixed a poisonous substance into her intravenous drip and injected it. Following her death, a fake suicide note was placed near her body to mislead investigators.

The victim, identified as Neha, resided in Faphoonda and was discovered unconscious by her colleagues on the afternoon of July 18, 2026. Attempts to revive her were unsuccessful, and she was declared dead shortly after. Upon arrival, law enforcement officials found sulphur tablets and a suicide note, which purportedly blamed her in-laws for her demise.

Neha’s family disputed the authenticity of the note, raising concerns about the handwriting. They informed the police that no conflicts existed with her in-laws, prompting a deeper investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

Investigation and Arrests

Following the family’s claims, police began reviewing CCTV footage and mobile phone records. Their inquiries revealed that Neha had been involved with Suresh, a hospital employee, for several months. CCTV footage showed Neha entering the operating theatre with Suresh and another individual named Farhan, with Suresh later seen leaving the room alone while wearing gloves.

Upon interrogating both suspects, police reported that Suresh confessed to his alleged role in the incident. They revealed that he was already married with a child and felt pressured by Neha’s desire to marry. As a result, he allegedly conspired with Farhan to kill her.

According to police accounts, Suresh was aware of Neha’s vulnerabilities, as she had mentioned feeling weak before the incident. They lured her into a private room under the pretext of administering a medical drip, where the fatal substance was mixed and injected into her.

Forensic Evidence and Legal Proceedings

After the incident, police recovered the alleged suicide note, a syringe, a cannula, and Neha’s mobile phone for forensic examination. The evidence gathered suggests planning and deliberate execution of the crime, casting doubt on the narrative of suicide that had initially arisen.

Further investigation revealed that Neha’s husband, Ravi Kumar, had also died by suicide approximately a year prior. Following his death, Neha took up nursing to support herself and her child, making the alleged murder even more tragic for her family.

Both Suresh and Farhan have been taken into custody and are remanded in judicial custody as the investigation continues. Police have indicated that they will pursue additional legal actions against the accused based on the gathered evidence and ongoing forensic analysis.
