NTA Reschedules AIAPGET Exam for 49 Candidates to September 1

The CSR Journal Magazine

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has rescheduled the All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) 2026 for 49 candidates who were unable to complete their examination due to a power supply failure at a testing centre in Jaipur. The power outage occurred during the examination, preventing these candidates from finishing their computer-based test.

On the day of the exam, the AIAPGET took place in two shifts across approximately 205 centres. Out of the 51,482 candidates who registered, 49,867 appeared for the test. While the majority of candidates were able to complete their examinations without incident, 49 candidates at the Shri Satya Sai PG College in Jaipur faced significant disruption.

At this Jaipur centre, 192 candidates were set to take the exam, but the unforeseen power failure hindered the ability of 49 candidates to proceed. This incident not only affected those students but also had a knock-on effect on the second shift of the examination that was due to start later in the day.

Impact on Second Shift Candidates

Reports indicate that the power disruption continued into the second shift of the examination. Consequently, candidates who were scheduled to enter the examination centre between 1 pm and 2.30 pm experienced delays. Some candidates remained outside the venue even after 3 pm, waiting for the situation to be resolved.

The NTA confirmed that while the examination was largely successful nationwide, the Jaipur centre faced unique challenges. As a result, the candidates affected by the power outage were understandably concerned about their examination status, prompting the agency’s decision to arrange for the re-examination.

In response to the circumstances, the NTA has set a new date for the affected candidates to retake the test on September 1, 2026. This move aims to ensure that all candidates receive a fair opportunity to complete the examination under normal conditions.

Future Measures by NTA

Following the incident, the NTA has been urged to review the reliability of power supply at exam centres, especially in areas prone to outages. Ensuring a smooth examination process is critical to maintain the integrity of tests administered by the agency. Stakeholders have expressed the need for a comprehensive plan to prevent such occurrences in future examinations.

The NTA has assured candidates that steps will be taken to improve infrastructure at testing locations. Officials have stated that they will work closely with relevant authorities to minimise any risks associated with power disruptions during future exams.

As scholars prepare for this important examination, the NTA’s commitment to resolving the issue and providing an alternative test date has been a crucial step in restoring confidence in the examination process. The agency remains dedicated to ensuring that all candidates are treated equitably and have the necessary conditions to succeed in their academic pursuits.
