The UGC-NET June 2026 re-examination is set to commence on September 9, with candidates scheduled to take the English and Commerce papers. The Sociology paper will follow on September 10. This re-examination has been ordered by the National Testing Agency (NTA) following the identification of various errors in the original question papers, including factual, typographical, translation, and linguistic issues, as well as the repetition of questions from previous examinations.

Candidates are advised to double-check their admit cards and ensure they arrive at their examination centres with ample time to spare, thereby avoiding potential delays. Additionally, NTA issued a travel advisory for candidates in Delhi, recommending that they plan their travel early due to anticipated traffic restrictions associated with the BRICS Summit.

The English examination is scheduled for September 9 from 9 am to 12 noon, while the Commerce paper will take place in the afternoon from 3 pm to 6 pm. The Sociology exam is planned for September 10, also from 9 am to 12 noon.

Reporting Times for Candidates

To facilitate seamless entry, the NTA advises candidates to arrive at their respective examination centres two hours prior to the scheduled start time. This will allow them to complete necessary procedures such as frisking and registration. The registration desk will close 30 minutes before the examination commences, which means that candidates for the morning shift should arrive by approximately 7 am. Those sitting for the Commerce paper should aim to reach by around 1 pm.

It is critical for candidates to follow the reporting time mentioned on their individual UGC NET 2026 re-exam admit cards. These details are specific to each candidate and should be prioritised to ensure a smooth examination experience.

Before departing for the examination centre, candidates must verify that they possess certain essential documents. This includes a printed copy of the UGC-NET admit card, valid photo identification, passport-size photographs as stipulated, and any applicable PwD or PwBD certificates. Furthermore, any additional documentation mentioned on their admit card or undertaking should also be packed for the examination day.

Important Guidelines for Examination Day

Candidates are cautioned not to bring mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, or any other electronic devices to the examination centre. Close attention should be paid to the instructions on the admit card, and candidates must comply with the directions provided by the examination centre staff during frisking and identity verification.

Given that this is a re-examination, candidates should ensure that the question paper displayed on their computer matches their chosen subject. If any inconsistencies arise, they are urged to report these issues to the invigilator immediately.

Importantly, this re-examination will not require any additional examination fee from the affected candidates. It is also worth noting that the remaining 84 subjects are unaffected by this re-test. Candidates should remain focused and prepared throughout the examination process, taking care to arrive on time and adhere to all specified guidelines.
