New FIR Filed Against Dawood Ahmed in Religious Conversion Syndicate Case

The CSR Journal Magazine

Agra police have escalated their efforts in a prominent investigation concerning an alleged religious conversion syndicate by filing a new FIR against Dawood Ahmed. The authorities contend that Ahmed is potentially involved in financing this network. This move reflects an ongoing commitment to address the case that has captured significant public attention.

A property attachment notice has also been affixed to Ahmed’s residence in Bhopal, which signifies the commencement of legal proceedings aimed at seizing his assets. These actions come as part of a broader strategy to tackle the issues surrounding the conversion syndicate, following allegations that have surfaced during the investigation.

The case initially emerged in July 2025 when two minor sisters disappeared from the Sadar area in Agra. The subsequent investigation revealed their links to an organised conversion racket, leading to their eventual rescue in Kolkata. This incident opened the door to uncovering a more extensive network operating within the region.

Ongoing Investigation and Arrests

Since the investigation began, police have arrested over 14 individuals believed to be associated with the syndicate. Reports suggest that Abdul Rahman is suspected to be the mastermind of the operation, orchestrating activities from Delhi. His associate, Ayesha, is alleged to have been managing parts of the network from Goa.

During police remand, the apprehended individuals disclosed that the syndicate was allegedly receiving financial backing from international sources. Investigations indicated that funds were reportedly channeled from countries such as Canada and the UAE. Dawood Ahmed, who is originally from Bhopal but is currently thought to be residing in Canada, has been identified as a pivotal figure in this funding operation.

Efforts made by police teams to locate and apprehend Ahmed in Bhopal have, thus far, been unsuccessful. He is currently absconding, which led to intensified actions on the part of authorities following his failure to respond to court summons.

Legal Actions and Future Developments

A new case against Dawood Ahmed has been formally registered at the Sadar Bazar police station under Section 209 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The legal frameworks are being utilised to ensure accountability and to facilitate the prosecution of those involved in this case.

In addition to the primary case, several girls have been rescued from the alleged conversion syndicate, signifying the ongoing commitment by law enforcement to dismantle this network. Officials assert that the investigation remains active, with future arrests and interventions anticipated as they seek to uncover further details of the operation.

Authorities are hopeful that these efforts will not only lead to the resolution of the current case but will also help prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. The situation remains fluid, with law enforcement focused on apprehending all individuals linked to the syndicate and ensuring justice is served.
