A cyber cafe in Malkpur village, part of Greater Noida, became the scene of a robbery involving armed assailants. Two masked individuals entered the establishment, threatening an employee with a firearm and subsequently fleeing with a significant amount of cash, totalling Rs 80,000. This incident was captured on the cafe’s CCTV system, which has since been reviewed by local authorities.

Circumstances of the Robbery

The robbery took place during lunchtime when the cafe’s owner, Mohit, had temporarily left the premises. Mohit, who hails from Aligarh and resides nearby in rented accommodation, had entrusted a young employee named Usman to oversee operations in his absence. As the incident unfolded, the two suspects arrived on a motorcycle and swiftly entered the cafe, prompting immediate alarm.

Once the robbers had departed on their motorcycle, Usman managed to raise an alarm. Subsequent to this, police forces arrived at the scene promptly. The presence of a forensic team was also noted, as they commenced the collection of evidence crucial for the investigation.

Investigative Actions Taken

Following the robbery, local police officials launched an extensive investigation into the theft. A Station House Officer provided insights, noting that Mohit also facilitated cash deposits for customers at the cafe and had withdrawn the stolen amount shortly before the armed robbery occurred. Authorities are now considering the possibility that the suspects monitored Mohit at the bank, allowing them to plan the robbery based on his cash carrying.

To facilitate the investigation, senior police personnel formed four dedicated teams tasked with identifying and locating the suspects. Authorities are meticulously analysing the CCTV footage to establish the identities of the robbers and track their movements before and after the incident.
