Man Killed After Alleged Stabbing by Live-In Partner in Bengaluru

The CSR Journal Magazine

A 40-year-old man was fatally stabbed multiple times by his live-in partner and two accomplices in Bengaluru’s Manjunath Nagar, according to police officials on Monday. The victim, identified as Mohan Rao, was found deceased on February 18. The authorities have apprehended three individuals in connection with the incident, namely actress Urmila, better known as Bindu, along with her associates Vinay and Dhanush Gowda.

Relationship Background

Bindu and Mohan were living together, having established a relationship after Mohan left his wife. Bindu is noted for her roles in films such as “Bhajarangi” and “Police Quarters.” According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) North West Bengaluru, DL Nagesh, Mohan had reportedly become a hindrance to Bindu and Vinay’s plans to marry, which eventually led to the tragic incident.

Motivation Behind the Crime

DCP Nagesh revealed that Bindu’s close friendship with Vinay, a lorry driver, escalated their intentions to get married. He asserted that Mohan Rao obstructed these plans, which motivated the group to perpetrate the crime. The stabbing occurred in their shared residence in Manjunath Nagar, where the police later discovered Mohan’s body.

Circumstances of the Murder

According to police accounts, the night of the crime involved the suspects convincing Mohan to drink alcohol before they attacked him. Mohan was reportedly stabbed multiple times and suffocated with a plastic covering. The authorities indicated that his body was left in a compromising state, having been found naked after the incident.

Police Investigation Progress

Approximately three days prior to the discovery of the body, officials from the Bagalgunte Police Station began investigating the case after responding to reports of a murder. Upon arrival, they determined that Mohan Rao had been killed and subsequently left at the scene. Ongoing inquiries led to the identification of the three suspects involved.

Additional Information on Victims and Suspects

The investigation further suggested that Bindu and her accomplices had allegedly coerced Mohan into taking Viagra, and upon his refusal, they resorted to violence. DCP Nagesh clarified that a few months before the event, Mohan and Bindu had presented themselves to their landlord as a couple, although they were not legally married. Bindu, who had a previous marriage, had also been living separately from her spouse.
