Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his sorrow over Roy’s passing. In a post on X, he noted Roy’s extensive political experience and commitment to social service. Modi described him as an experienced political figure whose contributions would be remembered. He stated, “Deeply saddened by the demise of former Union Minister Shri Mukul Roy ji. His vast political experience and dedicated efforts in social service will remain memorable. My heartfelt condolences to his family and supporters. Om Shanti.”

Mukul Roy passed away at Apollo Hospital located in Salt Lake, Kolkata, after suffering a cardiac arrest early on Monday morning.
