Kedarnath Temple Prohibits Mobile Phones Inside Premises

The CSR Journal Magazine

The use of mobile phones has been banned entirely within the premises of the Kedarnath Temple to maintain the sanctity of the revered site. Temple committee member Vineet Posti confirmed this decision on April 21, emphasising the importance of preserving the spiritual atmosphere for devotees. The prohibition covers not only the carrying of mobile phones but also taking photographs, recording videos, and creating social media content.

Posti informed that devotees who violate these regulations may face legal consequences. The temple committee has urged all visitors to adhere to the newly established guidelines, thereby ensuring a serene and spiritually uplifting darshan experience for all attendees.

Traffic Management Plans Implemented for Kedarnath Yatra

In preparation for the upcoming Kedarnath Yatra, the Rudraprayag police administration has developed a detailed traffic management strategy. This plan aims to facilitate a smooth and secure movement of devotees throughout the pilgrimage, focusing on effective traffic regulation and congestion prevention. Officials indicated that traffic arrangements will be optimised from national highways to essential link roads to accommodate the anticipated influx of pilgrims.

Appropriate police personnel will be stationed at critical junctions to manage vehicle flow and mitigate congestion along the route. Efforts will be made to ensure a disciplined and orderly traffic movement, providing an efficient travel experience for those journeying to the sacred temple.

Authorities have also arranged for both permanent and temporary parking facilities along the pilgrimage route. These measures are designed to lessen vehicular congestion and enhance the safety and convenience of pilgrims as they travel to the temple.

Coordinated Efforts for Seamless Pilgrimage Experience

According to Rudraprayag Superintendent of Police Niharika Tomar, a well-structured traffic plan has been developed in collaboration with neighbouring districts to effectively manage movement during peak hours. This comprehensive strategy divides the traffic system into two super zones and eleven sectors, with thirteen mobile force teams established to oversee operations.

Tomar indicated that a diversion plan will be activated in response to any surge in traffic, facilitating swifter management of congestion. The segmentation of the district into defined zones and sectors is intended to enhance monitoring capabilities and expedite responses to any traffic-related issues that may arise during the pilgrimage.

Mobile teams will be deployed along the route to address real-time situations swiftly, ensuring immediate intervention is possible, especially during busy travel periods. These preparations are part of a broader initiative by district authorities to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-organised Kedarnath Yatra for all devotees.
