Jaipur: Woman’s Body Found Wrapped in Plastic Bags, Dumped on Neighbour’s Porch

The CSR Journal Magazine

A shocking discovery in Jaipur’s Shastri Nagar area sent shockwaves through the neighbourhood on Tuesday morning when the body of a woman was found stuffed inside plastic sacks on the porch of a house in Subhash Colony near Parshuram Park. The sack was initially mistaken for tenants’ belongings, but a foul smell led residents to alert the police.

Injury Marks Point to Murder

Police officials who opened the sacks found the woman’s body wrapped in a blanket and packed into two plastic bags. Injury marks on her face immediately raised suspicion of murder. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Bajrang Singh said the method of wrapping likely delayed the spread of the decomposition odour. A forensic science laboratory (FSL) team was called to collect evidence from the scene.

Dog Squad Leads Police to Suspect

Investigators observed signs suggesting the body had been dragged a short distance before being dumped. A dog squad was deployed, and after sniffing the sacks, the dog led officers to a nearby house, raising strong suspicion against a local resident.

“A foul smell emanated when the sack was opened, revealing the woman’s body inside. There were injury marks on her face,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Bajrang Singh said.

Accused Arrested and Identified

Police arrested Jitendra Singh alias Jeetu (26), a resident of Subhash Colony who worked at a light shop. According to police, he had recently sold his house and was staying alone in Shastri Nagar while his family lived in Bindayaka. Officers noticed scratch marks on his face, and a search of his house revealed crucial evidence linked to the crime.

Relationship and Late-Night Argument

During interrogation, police learned that the woman lived alone in Shastri Nagar and was allegedly in a relationship with the accused. On the night of December 21, the two reportedly argued over money after meeting at his house. The dispute escalated into a physical altercation.

Crime and Attempt to Destroy Evidence

Police said the woman suffered a fatal head injury during the scuffle. The accused allegedly remained with the body overnight, later attempting to clean the room and dispose of evidence. He purchased a rope and plastic sacks, discarded the woman’s belongings elsewhere, and later dumped the body at a neighbour’s house during the early hours to avoid detection.

When the body was discovered and police activity intensified, the accused reportedly tried to act unaware. However, after sustained questioning, he confessed to the crime. Police said further investigation is ongoing.
