IndiGo has implemented higher fees for various add-on services, affecting passengers across multiple categories. This decision was made public by the airline on 17 September 2026. The adjustments include significant increases in charges related to excess baggage, infant travel, unaccompanied minors, and priority check-in and boarding.

The fee for excess baggage has increased notably, moving from Rs 700 per kilogram to Rs 800 per kilogram. This change will impact travellers who exceed their designated baggage allowance, necessitating additional payments upon check-in.

In another adjustment, fees related to infants, who are classified as passengers aged between three days and two years, have seen a rise. The current charge for travelling with an infant has escalated from Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000, reflecting an increase in costs associated with accommodating young travellers.

Changes to Unaccompanied Minor Services

Charges for IndiGo’s unaccompanied minor service have also been revised, particularly for domestic flights. The fee for children aged between five and twelve years travelling alone has increased from Rs 5,000 to Rs 5,999. This service is designed to ensure the safety and well-being of children travelling without an adult.

For international flights, the charge for the unaccompanied minor service is now set at Rs 12,999. The airline continues to provide specific measures to ensure a smooth and secure journey for minors travelling alone across borders.

Furthermore, the airline has raised the price for its Fast Forward service, which allows passengers priority check-in and boarding. The cost for this service has seen an increase from Rs 500 to Rs 650 for domestic routes. For international journeys, the fee is now Rs 850 per sector, indicating a broader trend of raising charges for auxiliary services.
