The Indian Army has announced the commencement of the application process for the Technical Graduate Course (TGC-145) aimed at engineering graduates aspiring for officer commissions in the military. This course is set to begin in July 2027, with applications being accepted from September 30, 2026, to October 29, 2026. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online at joinindianarmy.nic.in, the official Army recruitment website.

Selected candidates will undergo pre-commission training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun. During this training period, they will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 56,400. Upon successful completion, these individuals will be commissioned as Lieutenants in the Indian Army. Moreover, officers completing the training through this programme will be granted one year of ante-date seniority for purposes related to pay and promotions.

Selection Process and Criteria

The selection process will take place in multiple stages. Initially, candidates must submit their applications, after which a shortlist of eligible applicants will be created. The shortlisted candidates will be required to take part in interviews conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB), and subsequently undergo medical examinations. Following these evaluations, a merit list will be compiled, and joining letters will be issued to those selected for the course.

Eligibility criteria specify that candidates must hold a Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Technology (BTech), or a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science, among other notified engineering streams. Additionally, final-year engineering students may apply, provided they meet the conditions set forth by the Army. Such candidates must also be prepared to submit proof of their academic qualifications, along with marksheets for all semesters.

On commissioning, successful candidates may be appointed to various branches, including the Corps of Engineers, Corps of Signals, and Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers. Depending on Army needs, candidates may also be placed in other Arms and Services.
