As of July 2026, a total of 1,775 ongoing central sector infrastructure projects worth ₹37.11 lakh crore are being monitored by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI). During July, 36 new projects were added to the monitoring system.

Over Half of Revised Project Costs Spent

The projects are being tracked through MoSPI’s PAIMANA platform. Collectively, they have incurred expenditure of ₹19.26 lakh crore, equivalent to around 51.91% of their revised estimated costs.

Of the 1,775 projects, 675, or approximately 38%, have achieved more than 80% physical progress. Meanwhile, 305 projects, representing about 17%, have crossed the 80% mark in financial completion.

Transport and Logistics Account for Largest Share

The transport and logistics sector accounts for the largest number of monitored projects, with 1,246 projects having a combined revised cost of ₹19.81 lakh crore. This represents around 53% of the total project cost.

The energy sector follows with 205 projects worth ₹10.66 lakh crore.

Road Transport Ministry Leads Project Count

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has the highest number of monitored projects, with 993 projects accounting for 56% of the total. Their combined revised cost stands at ₹9.62 lakh crore.

The Railways has 190 projects valued at ₹6.38 lakh crore, while the Ministry of Coal oversees 121 projects worth ₹2.22 lakh crore.

Major Projects Completed in July

Several major infrastructure projects were completed or commissioned during July. These included the ₹2,810-crore Srikakulam–Angul Gas Pipeline Project, along with Aligarh–Kanpur Package I and Dwarka Expressway Package III.

36 New Projects Added to Monitoring System

The 36 projects added to the monitoring system in July include 16 from the Department of Telecommunications, nine from the Ministry of Steel, six from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, three from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and one each from the Ministries of Housing and Urban Affairs and Power.

Major New Infrastructure Projects

Among the notable additions are the ₹38,358-crore Meja Thermal Power Project Stage-II, the ₹13,037.66-crore Jaipur Metro Rail Project Phase 2, and a ₹1,418.16-crore greenfield Varanasi–Ranchi–Kolkata highway project.
