The CSR Journal Magazine

After the cheating case, Shilpa Shetty finds herself in another scrutiny, on Wednesday the Income Tax Department searched the restaurant named Bastian, co-owned by Shilpa Shetty. Batian is Dadar-based restaurant co-owned by Shilpa Shetty and restaurateur Ranjit Bindra. This restaurant was launched in 2016 and ever since the launch it has been very popular for its seafood-centric menu and classy nightlife. Over the years, this place has been a favourite spot for many celebrities and socialites residing in Mumbai and Bengaluru. As per media reports, a search operation was carried out early Wednesday morning, even though the actual reason for the operation hasn’t been disclosed, there has not been any official release.

The operation followed the legal trouble faced by the restaurant in Bengaluru. Yesterday, an FIR was launched against the restaurant’s branch in Bengaluru for operating beyond the permitted hours of operation. The FIR read, the restaurant violated the norms of operation and late-night parties.

The FIR was filed against the restaurant located at St. Mark’s Road in central Bengaluru. As per the sources, the FIR was filed after a complaint was received on the late hour operations around 1.30 am on December 11, which was way beyond the time stipulated for closing. Managers and staff have been booked for violating operational rules.

How has Shilpa Shetty reacted to the search operation?

Reacting to this incident and FIR, Shilpa Shetty wrote on her social media and called this baseless, she wrote, “We categorically deny the baseless and motivated allegations being circulated. The issues sought to be raised are being given a criminal colour without any lawful basis. A Quashing Petition has already been filed before the Hon’ble High Court and is pending adjudication.”

Expressing confidence in the judicial process, she further wrote, “Having fully cooperated with the investigation, we are sanguine that justice will prevail and have complete faith in the law enforcement authorities and the judicial system of our country. We respectfully urge the media to exercise restraint as the matter is sub judice,”.

This isn’t the only case where Shilpa and her family has been in trouble, recently the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) booked Shilpa Shetty and husband Raj Kundra for cheating a Mumbai-based businessman of Rs 60.4 crore, this is a loan-cum-investment deal.
