Nicaragua has presented its case to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), asserting that Germany violated the Genocide Convention by providing arms to Israel, which were reportedly used in the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The ICJ is currently deliberating on its jurisdiction to handle this complex legal matter.

The allegations emerge in the context of Israel’s military operations following the violent attacks by Hamas on October 7, 2023. Nicaragua’s arguments bring into focus the implications of international law concerning the facilitation of genocide under such circumstances.
