Massive Fundraising Drive for Proposed Babri Mosque in Murshidabad

The CSR Journal Magazine

Humayun Kabir’s Initiative Rakes in Hefty Sum. A significant fundraising effort for the proposed Babri Mosque, spearheaded by suspended Trinamool Congress MLA  Humayun Kabir, has resulted in a colossal accumulation of money. The sheer volume of cash collected has necessitated the use of specialized equipment and personnel, turning Kabir’s residence into a makeshift counting centre.

Counting Underway: Machines and Manpower Deployed

The amount of money raised for the project is so substantial that it has been described as a “mountain of cash.” Counting the funds has been a continuous process, spanning several hours.

To manage the unprecedented volume of currency, a money counting machine was quickly brought to Humayun Kabir’s home in Rezinagar. Reports confirm that the funds are secured in eleven large trunks, and the counting machine is currently dedicated to tallying the contents of these containers. Furthermore, approximately 30 individuals have reportedly been engaged specifically for the meticulous task of counting the collection.

QR Code Donations Net Millions

Highlighting the modern methods employed in the fundraising, Kabir claims that the use of a simple QR code scan alone has generated an impressive ₹93 lakh (Ninety-three lakh rupees). This figure underscores the widespread and efficient nature of the donation drive.

Foundation Laid in Murshidabad

The fundraising activity follows the recent, formal launch of the mosque project. Humayun Kabir officially laid the foundation stone for the Babri Mosque in Murshidabad on Saturday. Following the ceremony, Kabir returned to the site on Sunday, personally participating in the construction process by bringing bricks.

Potential Expansion: Proposed Mosques in Birbhum and Malda

The Babri Mosque project may not be confined to Murshidabad.

Humayun Kabir has confirmed that there are proposals for establishing similar ‘Babri’ mosques in two other districts of West Bengal: Birbhum and Malda.

Local Requests: Kabir stated that groups of people from areas like Rampurhat and Siuri in Birbhum have approached him directly, requesting the construction of the mosque in their localities.

Malda Contact: Similarly, numerous individuals from Malda have reportedly reached out to him regarding the proposal.

Kabir has acknowledged the community interest and has given an assurance that he will consider these requests for expansion into Birbhum and Malda.
