Delhi Metro Extends Train Services Till Midnight for Diljit Dosanjh’s Concert on October 30

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that it will extend train services until midnight on October 30, 2026, to accommodate attendees of Diljit Dosanjh’s concert at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. This extension is aimed at facilitating the movement of approximately 70,000 spectators expected to attend the event, many of whom are likely to use the Metro for their commute.

The nearest Metro station to the concert venue is the JLN Stadium Metro Station, situated on the Violet Line, which connects Kashmere Gate and Raja Nahar Singh Ballabhgarh. The DMRC has made special arrangements to ensure a smooth travel experience for concertgoers.

In a public statement, the DMRC confirmed that train services will be operational until 12 am across all Metro lines, with the exception of the Airport Express Line and the Rapid Metro in Gurugram. Additional train trips will be scheduled throughout the network to manage the anticipated influx of passengers following the concert.

Special Measures at JLN Stadium Metro Station

To effectively handle the expected rush of concert attendees, the DMRC has implemented various special measures at the JLN Stadium Metro Station and key interchange stations. The organisation will deploy extra Metro staff, customer service personnel, and Customer Facilitation Agents (CFAs) to assist commuters and regulate passenger flow.

Security measures will also be enhanced at the JLN Stadium station, with the introduction of additional personnel, Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMDs), and improved screening protocols to ensure the safety of all passengers. The DMRC has emphasised the importance of these arrangements in managing the large crowds expected for the concert.

In light of the extended operational hours, the DMRC will also prolong the QR ticket purchasing window on its mobile application, Delhi Metro Sarthi, by one hour. This adjustment is intended to facilitate easier access to tickets for concertgoers.

Details of Diljit Dosanjh’s Concert

Diljit Dosanjh, currently in the United States, will launch his ‘Aura India Tour 2026’ with the concert in Delhi on October 30. The performance is scheduled to commence at approximately 7:30 pm. Following the concert in the national capital, the tour will proceed to multiple cities, including Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Chandigarh.

The 42-year-old artist last toured India in 2024 as part of his widely acclaimed Dil-Luminati Tour, which included performances in several major cities such as New Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Indore, Chandigarh, and Guwahati, culminating in a concert in Ludhiana.

The DMRC has encouraged concert attendees to utilise Metro services for a convenient and environmentally friendly mode of transport, thereby reducing reliance on private vehicles. This initiative aims to enhance the overall experience for those attending the concert while promoting public transport usage in the capital.
