The Delhi government has made an official announcement regarding free travel in DTC buses for candidates participating in the NEET examination scheduled for June 21. Delhi’s Health and Transport Minister, Pankaj Kumar Singh, indicated that candidates are required to present a valid admit card to take advantage of this facility.

During the announcement, Minister Singh emphasised that the initiative aims to alleviate transportation concerns for students on the day of their exam. “Students appearing for the NEET examination must present their valid admit cards while boarding the bus. After this, no fare will be charged to them,” he stated.

This measure is expected to assist a significant number of candidates travelling across the city, ensuring they reach their examination centres without any additional financial burden. The government aims to foster an environment where students can focus fully on their examination preparations.

Commitment to Student Welfare

Minister Singh reiterated the government’s commitment to student welfare during the announcement. He highlighted that the free bus service is part of a broader strategy to provide optimal support for students as they prepare for competitive examinations.

Further stressing the importance of this initiative, Singh mentioned, “The Delhi Government is committed to providing them with the best possible facilities,” reflecting the administration’s recognition of the significance of education. Ensuring that students can travel comfortably and stress-free is a priority for the government.

Additionally, the Minister shared information regarding future developments in the capital’s public transport infrastructure, including plans to introduce hydrogen fuel cell buses. He noted, “Very soon, hydrogen buses will start running on the roads of Delhi,” indicating a step towards sustainable transport in the city.

Support and Encouragement for NEET Aspirants

The Delhi Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, also spoke about the initiative, remarking on the importance of the time and efforts invested by students. She expressed the government’s unwavering dedication to ensuring that students receive comprehensive support throughout their education and during competitive examinations.

Chief Minister Gupta stated that examinations such as NEET significantly impact the lives of students, highlighting the administration’s responsibility to provide convenience and mitigate any additional stress on exam day. She encouraged candidates to approach the examination with confidence, viewing it as an opportunity to realise their aspirations.

Gupta extended her best wishes to all NEET candidates, hoping for a positive outcome as they move towards their future goals. Her remarks served as a motivational message, reminding students of the importance of their hard work and dedication while preparing for the upcoming examination.

The government also requested that all candidates remember to show their admit cards to bus conductors while travelling on DTC buses to fully utilise the free travel provision. This step is seen as a practical measure to support students during a crucial time in their academic journey.
