Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta announced key legislative decisions made during a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee. The meeting, held on August 6, concluded that two reports from the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG) would be tabled in the House during the Monsoon Session. Additionally, a notification related to the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission is set to be presented as part of the assembly’s agenda.

Introduction of Key Bills During the Session

During the Sixth Session of the Eighth Legislative Assembly, planned from August 7 to 11, 2026, the assembly will introduce three significant bills. The proposed legislation includes the Delhi (Right of Citizen to Time Bound Delivery of Services) Bill, 2026, which aims to repeal the previous Delhi (Right of Citizens to Time Bound Services) Act, 2011. The bills also involve amendments to existing laws regarding the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board and bed-and-breakfast establishments.

Rekha Gupta, the Chief Minister and Minister of Finance, is designated to present the first two reports from the C&AG. Report No. 01 of 2026 pertains to the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023, while Report No. 02 addresses state finance for the year 2024-2025. These reports are crucial for the assembly to assess the financial health and accountability of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

Additionally, Ashish Sood, Minister of Power, is expected to table the notification regarding amendments to the regulations concerning open access provisions of the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission. This notification aims to clarify terms and conditions, which could impact energy accessibility for local consumers.

The Business Advisory Committee meeting was attended by several notable members, including Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht and Chief Whip Abhay Verma.
