The Punjab Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, has approved a significant salary increase for teachers working in Adarsh Schools, raising their monthly remuneration from approximately Rs 10,000 to over Rs 22,000. This decision, confirmed by government officials, aims to benefit roughly 1,100 teachers across the state. The announcement reflects the government’s dedication to ensuring that educators, who play a vital role in shaping the future of Punjab, receive fair compensation and recognition.

Commitment to Improving Education

In addition to the salary rise, Chief Minister Mann announced that the teachers would be provided with improved facilities akin to those found in Kendriya Vidyalayas. He asserted that these enhancements would lead to better overall working conditions for the educators. Mann also noted that more than 15,000 students are currently enrolled in the CBSE-affiliated Adarsh Schools, further emphasising the government’s commitment to both teacher and student welfare.

“When teachers feel secure and respected, students receive better education,” Mann remarked, reinforcing the idea that a strengthened educational framework contributes to securing students’ futures. He reiterated the government’s determination to protect teachers’ interests while ensuring a conducive learning environment for students.

Chief Minister Mann expressed that the government has listened to the genuine demands of Adarsh School teachers, which have been overlooked for years. He affirmed, “Our government is committed to the welfare of every section of society. We have accepted the legitimate demands of these teachers and will continue ensuring they can discharge their responsibilities in a smooth and hassle-free manner.” This statement underlines the government’s intention to create a supportive atmosphere for educators.
