As part of its nationwide CSR initiative, ‘Drive the Driver’ Fund, Ola Foundation, the social arm of Ola, has partnered with Robin Hood Army to deliver over 25 lakh free meals to driver-partners and their families across 20 cities. The meal distribution drive has so far provided 1 crore meals for this community thereby benefiting thousands of households across the country.
A volunteer-based organisation committed to eradicating hunger, the Robin Hood Army will collaborate with Ola for the on-ground implementation of this activity across Vizag, Mysore, Kochi, Guwahati, Pune, Nashik, Bhubaneshwar, Patna, Nagpur, Hubli, Dharwad, Kozhikode, Mangalore, Amravati, Kolhapur, Solapur, Ranchi, Raipur, Vijayawada, Aurangabad and Coimbatore. Robin Hood Army through its self-sustained network of chapters will distribute the meals to the driver-partner and their families.
Said Anand Subramanian from Ola, “Drivers are the backbone of India’s mobility ecosystem and play a pivotal role in helping the economy and nation move forward. Our partnership with the Robin Hood Army furthers our commitment to supporting the families of the driver-community across the country. This CSR initiative under the aegis of the Drive the Driver Fund will positively impact the tens of thousands of families of drivers, who serve our nation’s mobility needs every day.”
Sanchit Jain, Co-Founder, Robin Hood Army said, “This partnership with Ola has helped us serve lakhs of Drivers & their families who have been one of the worst affected communities during this pandemic. We hope to keep collaborating in the future so that we can continue to serve the people who need it the most.”
The ‘Drive the Driver’ fund was launched in March this year as an initiative spearheaded by the Ola Foundation to support the driver community by focussing on key areas like emergency medical support and essential supplies. Driver-partners and their families have also been provided access to free medical consultation.
