In a separate message on X, he acknowledged that the BJP’s overwhelming victory serves as a clear affirmation from the public regarding the state’s administration under Modi’s leadership.

Shah emphasised that the party’s efforts to eliminate the previous governance model marked by inefficiency and corruption have paved the way for renewed progress across various sectors. BJP Dominates Election Results in Rajasthan

The BJP emerged as the dominant force in the Rajasthan urban local body elections, securing 4,179 out of 10,245 wards, while the Congress party garnered 3,613 seats. Independent candidates accounted for 2,273 wards, indicating their significant impact on the electoral landscape.

The BJP is positioned to establish boards in four major municipal corporations: Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur, and Bhilwara. Conversely, the Congress managed to obtain a clear majority in the Bikaner Municipal Corporation. In various other civic bodies such as Ajmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Alwar, and Pali, no party achieved an outright majority, resulting in independent councillors being critical to the formation of boards.

Within the Jaipur Municipal Corporation, the BJP recorded 78 seats, while the Congress secured 53 and independent candidates won 15. In the Jodhpur Municipal Corporation, both the BJP and Congress produced a tie with 44 seats each, indicating the pivotal role independents will play in governance decisions.

Overall, the BJP managed to secure a majority in 12 of the 47 municipal councils, while the Congress achieved a majority in eight. In the 252 municipalities, the BJP took control in 66 councils, as Congress secured 38, and 121 municipalities saw independents influencing the formation of boards. The significant performance of independent candidates is expected to be a decisive factor in local governance across Rajasthan.
