PNB Marks International Day of Persons with Disabilities
New Delhi, India: Punjab National Bank (PNB), the nation’s leading public sector bank, celebrated International Day of Persons with Disabilities at its Head Office, New Delhi, focusing on this year’s theme, “Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future.” The event was graced by the presence of MD & CEO, Executive Directors (EDs), Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), and other senior officials, to recognise the contributions of specially-abled staff members to the business growth of the bank. Senior officers from zonal and circle offices, along with specially-abled staff in the field, also participated virtually.

To commemorate the occasion, the bank felicitated three specially-abled employees for their remarkable achievements: Shri Sandeep Negi for winning the Gold medal in Para Taekwondo at the National Championship 2024, Shri Parveen Sharma for representing India in the Visually Impaired Indian Team that won the T-20 World Cup in 2022, and Kumari Pooja Gupta for securing the bronze medal in the World Boccia Challenger Series 2024 in Bahrain. Additionally, the top three PNB warriors were recognised for their outstanding contributions to the bank. Specially-abled employees with exceptional achievements were honoured across India at the bank’s zonal offices.
Further underlining its commitment to inclusivity, the bank has sanctioned financial support to the Deaf Sports Association of Delhi for the 6th Delhi State Games and the Delhi Association of the Deaf for the 52nd Delhi Games of the Deaf.
