He also wore heavy choker chains, and ornate rings to give a pop of colour and bling to his black look. A tiger-topped walking stick completed his debut Met Gala look.
SRK then greeted his fans with his signature pose and radiant smile, drawing massive applause on the Met carpet. Sabyasachi, who also joined Khan on the carpet, underscored the growing presence of Indian couture on the global stage.
Theme: Celebrating Black Style Through Tailored Menswear
For the year 2025 year’s Met Gala embraced a historic and timely theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”. The theme was inspired by Monica L. Miller’s seminal 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.
The dress code was titled as “Tailored for You”. The event highlighted the cultural, historical, and stylistic contributions of Black fashion, focusing for the first time in over two decades exclusively on menswear.
Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Anna Wintour served as co-chairs, while LeBron James was named honorary co-chair of the event.
“The theme this year is not only timely,” said Gala committee member Usher, “but also speaks to our rich culture that should always be widely celebrated.” The Met says the show “presents a cultural and historical examination of black style from the 18th Century to today, through the lens of dandyism”.
