‘Awarapan 2’ Achieves Milestone as Emraan Hashmi’s First Rs 200 Crore Solo Hit

The CSR Journal Magazine

Awarapan 2, featuring actor Emraan Hashmi, has achieved impressive success at the box office, marking it as one of the year’s major successes. The film, produced with an estimated budget of Rs 45 crore, has reportedly yielded over 200 per cent profit. The film’s durability in the market following its debut week has contributed significantly to its achievements.

The movie premiered at the box office during the Independence Day weekend, competing against Batwara 1947. It generated an opening day collection of Rs 22 crore, which saw a substantial increase on its second day, accumulating Rs 33.75 crore. By the conclusion of its first week, Awarapan 2 had amassed Rs 113.50 crore in India net, while its global gross had reached Rs 161.67 crore.

Sustained Momentum in Subsequent Days

The film demonstrated strong performance during its second weekend and successfully navigated the second Monday test, which is often crucial for films. On Day 8, it earned Rs 5.75 crore, followed by Rs 8.25 crore on Day 9. Continuing this trend, it collected Rs 8.75 crore on Day 10, although there was a decline to Rs 2.75 crore on Day 11.

<h4Remarkably, Awarapan 2 bounced back on its second Tuesday, collecting Rs 4 crore amid promotional ticket pricing strategies. As reported by Sacnilk, this brought the total India net collection to Rs 143 crore, further showcasing the film’s ability to recover and retain audience interest.

Global Reach and Upcoming Competition

Awarapan 2 has surpassed the Rs 200 crore milestone globally, recording earnings of Rs 201.45 crore so far. Of this total, the domestic gross from India accounts for Rs 170.15 crore, with an additional Rs 31.30 crore originating from international markets. This diverse income stream reflects the film’s wide appeal and solid production quality.

However, the film is expected to face increased competition as the theatrical landscape is shifting. While Batwara 1947 has reportedly struggled, Hanuman Ansh has positioned itself as a formidable rival in its third week. Compounding this challenge, Awarapan 2 will likely lose screens due to the release of Yash’s film Toxic, which is set to enter theatres today. Such developments may affect the movie’s revenue in the upcoming days.

In addition to Emraan Hashmi, Awarapan 2 features a noteworthy cast that includes Disha Patani, Puran Gabbi, Shabana Azmi, and Suvinder Vicky in pivotal roles. This ensemble has contributed to the film’s resonance with audiences, creating anticipation for further box office outcomes.
