Assam’s ex-servicemen have come forward to assist those affected by floods in the state by donating ₹25 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. This contribution aims to support ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts for the communities hit hardest by recent flooding.

The cheque was handed over to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati. This action underscores the veterans’ ongoing commitment to serving the public, illustrating their dedication to humanitarian efforts following their military service.

Brigadier Polash Chowdhury, SM (Retd), who serves as the Director of the Directorate of Sainik Welfare in Assam, was among the representatives from the veterans’ group who presented the contribution. He emphasised the importance of continued support for the people of Assam, especially in such challenging times.
