Alia Bhatt Shrugs Off Online Judgement About Marriage With Ranbir Kapoor: “The Noise Isn’t Real”

The CSR Journal Magazine

Actor Alia Bhatt has opened up about the constant online commentary surrounding her marriage to Ranbir Kapoor, making it clear that the opinions circulating on social media have little impact on her real life. In a recent interaction with Esquire India, the actor said that the chatter doesn’t affect her or her family because it is based on fleeting moments taken out of context.

Alia pointed out that people react to just a few seconds of what they see online, while her relationship with Ranbir is built on seven years of shared experiences. According to her, those brief clips cannot define a bond that has grown over time.

What did she say?

In a conversation with Esquire India, Alia Bhatt said, “The noise doesn’t reach us. Because it’s not real. They’re responding to three-and-a-half seconds or seven seconds of what they’re seeing. We’ve been together for seven years. That’s way more seconds than what people are commenting on.”

She continued, “Even the B of bother doesn’t enter our lives. If you’re in a room of fifty people, maybe only four actually care about you. The rest might be thinking terrible things, but you can’t hear them. Is my reality changing? No. Is my family dynamic changing? Not at all. Am I living my dream? Yes. Do I go to sleep every day with a grateful heart? One hundred per cent.”

“Our Reality Doesn’t Change”

Addressing memes and speculative comments, Alia said she rarely even comes across them. On occasions when she does, she and Ranbir sometimes laugh them off. She stressed that external opinions have no bearing on her personal happiness, family life, or sense of fulfilment.

The actor explained that even if people form negative opinions, they exist outside her lived reality. She added that her family dynamic remains unchanged, she continues to live the life she dreamed of, and she ends each day with a sense of gratitude.

Thoughts on Fame and Social Media

During the same conversation, Alia reflected on her evolving relationship with social media, especially after becoming a mother. She admitted there are moments when she feels like stepping away from online platforms entirely to focus solely on her craft as an actor.

However, she shared that her long-time supporters keep her connected to social media, as she values the bond she has built with them over the years.

Motherhood and a More Private Life

Alia also spoke about how motherhood has shifted her priorities. With most of her personal photos now centred around her daughter Raha, she finds it increasingly difficult to share her private life publicly. She described motherhood as a profound change that affects both mindset and perspective.

What’s Next on the Work Front

Professionally, Alia Bhatt will next be seen in Alpha, a female-led espionage thriller set in the YRF Spy Universe, alongside Sharvari Wagh and Bobby Deol. She is also set to star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
