The CSR Journal Magazine

Adani Skills & Education (ASE) has partnered with the Gujarat Government by signing two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at transforming eleven Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the Kutch region. This initiative focuses on the development of industry-linked training and employment-oriented skill development for local youth. The signing event took place on May 29, at the GAIMS Auditorium in Bhuj.

Attendees included Cabinet Minister for Labour, Skill Development & Employment Kunwarjibhai Bavaliya, along with Minister of State for Labour, Skill Development & Employment Kantilal Amrutiya, senior district leaders, and representatives from both the Gujarat Government and Adani Group. Faculty members and students from all ITIs in Kutch were also present.

The project aims to prepare local youth for the evolving job landscape in Kutch, a region earmarked for growth in sectors such as renewable energy, logistics, and industrial infrastructure. The collaboration seeks to provide the necessary skills for young people to thrive in these developing industries.

Focus Areas of the Initiative

The partnership will prioritise several key areas, including curriculum development, infrastructure upgrades, and faculty enhancement. The goal is to modernise technical education institutions and ensure that they align better with the needs of the workforce. Additionally, ASE aims to provide practical training and job placement support to students, increasing their employability in relevant sectors.

During the event, ASE acknowledged the achievements of students by distributing ‘Skill2Employ’ Letters of Invitation and awarding Certificates of Excellence to twenty-two individuals for their outstanding all-round performances. Furthermore, thirty instructors received Certificates of Completion under ASE’s Train-the-Trainer programme, fostering the next generation of educators for ITIs.

Graduates who are currently working within the Adani ecosystem shared their experiences to illustrate the path from technical education to employment, showcasing the practical impact of the training provided.

Government Officials Emphasise Importance of Skilled Workforce

Minister Kunwarjibhai Bavaliya highlighted the significance of aligning training with industry demands, stating that the initiative aims to build a self-reliant workforce capable of meeting modern challenges. He underlined the importance of technical training in contributing to the nation’s prosperity as part of the Skill India mission.

Minister Kantilal Amrutiya encouraged the students to take advantage of these educational opportunities to forge meaningful careers. He reiterated that a skilled youth demographic is essential for India’s economic growth and overall national progress.

Robin Bhowmik, Chief Executive Officer of ASE, stated that Kutch holds great importance in the organisation’s long-term vision for skill development. He expressed a commitment to working closely with the Gujarat Government and local ITIs to create a skilled workforce that can support the region’s transformation.

Skill2Employ Approach Aimed at Local Talent Development

ASE’s Skill2Employ programme aims to blend theoretical learning with real-world exposure. The initiative employs various strategies, including simulation training, Centres of Excellence, and global curriculum standards, to enhance the skill sets of students from the outset of their careers.

The overarching objective is to mitigate talent migration while strengthening the local workforce in Kutch, ensuring that the region’s growth is increasingly sustained by homegrown talent. This approach is expected to facilitate the long-term development of a productive workforce equipped to contribute across various sectors.

Through this partnership, both Adani Skills Education and the Gujarat Government are reinforcing their commitment to enhancing skilling initiatives that cater to the evolving economic landscape in Kutch.
