Yogi Govt Launches Women-led Water Quality Testing Drive in Uttar Pradesh

In a major step towards ensuring public health, the Yogi Adityanath-led government has launched a door-to-door drinking water testing campaign. The campaign is being carried out across 17 municipal corporations of Uttar Pradesh. What makes this initiative unique is that it is being led entirely by women, aptly titled “Amrit Mitras.”

National Urban Livelihoods Mission

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the campaign is being carried out as part of the AMRUT 2.0. The initiative also involves the National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM). A total of 788 women from self-help groups have been specially trained to conduct water quality tests. The mission will be carried out directly at people’s homes.

Amrit Mitra women

In Uttar Pradesh, Amrit Mitra women are not just testing water at people’s home, they are also educating families about the importance of safe and clean drinking water. This unique campaign is changing both lives and mindsets across the state.

Women who were once confined to their homes are now stepping out with confidence, going door-to-door to check water quality and becoming guardians of public health. Through this initiative, they have not only become self-reliant but are also inspiring a shift in how society views women’s roles.

CM Yogi’s Vision

This powerful program is setting a new example of women empowerment. The Amrit Mitras are proving that when given the right platform and opportunity, women can lead change in any field. Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision, this initiative has become a model for promoting cleanliness, health, and gender equality across the country.
