The Uttarakhand Board of School Education has released the results for the High School and Intermediate Improvement Examinations for 2026 (First) on August 19. The results indicate that 83.13 per cent of students successfully cleared the High School examinations, while 73.35 per cent passed the Intermediate examinations. These figures reveal a notable achievement for students participating in the improvement process.

High School Examination Statistics

In the 2026 improvement examinations, the High School pass percentage reached 83.13 per cent, with 82.61 per cent of boys and 84.34 per cent of girls passing the exam. The overall improvement in the pass rate is significant, reflecting the hard work by students aiming to enhance their scores. The Board’s Chairman, VP Simlty, stated that these examination results should be seen in conjunction with the previous Board examination outcomes.

The High School pass percentage has climbed sharply from 92.10 per cent to 96.07 per cent following the improvement exams, marking a substantial increase. This increase includes a remarkable 93.94 per cent of boys and an impressive 98.14 per cent of girls achieving passing marks in this round of assessments. Such a rise underscores the effectiveness of the improvement exams in supporting student success.

Clearly, the improvement examinations have positively impacted overall results, fostering an environment for educational advancement. The data shows that a greater number of students benefited from the opportunity to retake and improve their scores across both genders.

Intermediate Examination Results Analysis

The situation is similar in the Intermediate examination results, where the overall pass rate jumped from 85.11 per cent to 91.80 per cent. In this category, 89.26 per cent of boys and 94.16 per cent of girls passed, showcasing a significant gain and reflecting a positive trend for the students involved in the improvement process.

In the 2026 Intermediate improvement examinations, 73.35 per cent of candidates successfully passed. This encompassed 71.20 per cent of boys and a higher 76.07 per cent of girls. This gender distinction indicates a growing trend of female students excelling in education, which aligns with national efforts to promote girl’s education.

Overall, the positive outcomes in both High School and Intermediate levels offer encouragement for future educational initiatives. With increasing pass percentages, the Board’s efforts in conducting improvement examinations appear effective in advancing students’ academic profiles.

Results from Previous Improvement Examinations

The Uttarakhand Board has also disclosed results from the Improvement Examination held in 2025 (Third), presenting a different set of statistics. For this examination, the overall High School pass percentage was recorded at 66.67 per cent, with boys at a passing rate of 71.88 per cent and girls at 57.89 per cent. These figures indicate a decline in performance compared to recent improvement results.

In the Intermediate category, the pass percentage was 58.70 per cent, with 61.54 per cent of boys and 55.00 per cent of girls clearing the examinations. These earlier results suggest the necessity for additional academic support and guidance for students who may be facing challenges in their studies.

The varying results from different years highlight the trends and shifts in student performance and educational outcomes within the state. The Board of School Education continues to address these challenges while celebrating successes achieved through perseverance and educational support.
