US Central Command Intensifies Military Campaign in Iran, Targeting Over 3,000 Sites

The CSR Journal Magazine

The United States Central Command has confirmed a significant escalation in its military operations against Iran, revealing that more than 3,000 strikes have been executed within the first week of the operation, termed “Operation Epic Fury.” This announcement was made in a statement on the platform X, where the military elaborated on its ongoing efforts. Central Command asserted that the military campaign will maintain its momentum, indicating that additional strikes are anticipated in the forthcoming weeks.

President Trump Asserts No Negotiation Without Surrender

In tandem with the military’s aggressive posture, President Donald Trump reaffirmed his stance against negotiations with Iran, stating that any diplomatic engagement would hinge on “unconditional surrender” by Tehran. During remarks made on Truth Social, Trump emphasized that an agreement would only be considered once Iran’s leadership fully capitulated and was succeeded by what he described as “great & acceptable leaders.” The President revealed plans to assist in reconstructing Iran after its surrender, coining the phrase “MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN (MIGA!),” which echoes his previous political messaging.

Aftermath of Joint US-Israel Strike on Iranian Leadership

The current military escalation follows a volatile week after a joint military operation by the US and Israel on February 28, which resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several senior officials. This strike provoked a robust response from Tehran, which retaliated with a series of drone and missile attacks targeting American military installations and Israeli interests across various Arab nations. Israel has concurrently expanded its military actions against Tehran, including operations in Lebanon aimed at Hezbollah.

Trump Expresses Interest in Iran’s Leadership Transition

In light of Ayatollah Khamenei’s death, President Trump has expressed a desire to play a role in the selection of Iran’s forthcoming Supreme Leader. In an interview, he drew parallels between his involvement in Iran and his previous experience with political developments in Venezuela. Trump conveyed his disapproval of Mojtaba Khamenei—Ali Khamenei’s son—who is viewed as a potential successor, labeling him as “a lightweight” and suggesting that his elevation to power would not foster peace or stability in Iran. He emphasized the need for a leader capable of bringing about “harmony and peace,” warning that adherence to the former leadership’s policies could ignite renewed conflict with the United States.

Iranian Government Denies Succession Claims

While speculation concerning Mojtaba Khamenei’s candidacy grows, the Iranian government has officially disputed these assertions. Through the Consulate General in Mumbai, Iranian authorities termed reports regarding potential leadership candidates as lacking official grounding. They underscored that these claims have been categorically denied. Reports indicate that President Trump remains resolute in his belief that the United States should reject any new Iranian leader who aligns with the policies of his predecessor.
