The Union Council of Ministers will gather for a two-day Chintan Shivir on September 23 and 24, with the aim of advancing the Viksit Bharat@2047 initiative. This significant meeting, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is designed to facilitate a formal discussion among the ministers regarding the progress, planning, and future objectives related to various government projects.

Sources indicate that the Shivir will serve as an important platform for assessing current efforts, outlining future strategies, and determining essential reforms. The overarching goal is to identify priorities that align with the vision of India as a developed nation by the year 2047.

Focus on Reviewing Government Work and Identifying Future Reforms

According to government sources, the meeting will emphasize reviewing the ongoing initiatives and pinpointing the next series of actions needed to achieve the Viksit Bharat goal. This initiative has been in progress since 2021, involving extensive consultations with stakeholders across different sectors.

Ten Sectoral Groups of Secretaries have been established to work on the Vision@2047, producing both short-term and long-term strategies. These groups have presented multiple discussions and reports to the Council, covering various dimensions of the Viksit Bharat initiative.

The contributions from these Groups of Secretaries, along with input from various Ministries, Departments, and agencies like the Cabinet Secretariat and NITI Aayog, will be integral to the discussions at the Chintan Shivir. Efforts to promote reforms, enhance the ease of living, and streamline compliance requirements will also be reviewed.

Future Meetings Anticipated Following Chintan Shivir

Sources have indicated that the upcoming Chintan Shivir is not a one-off event, as additional rounds of discussions are expected in the near future.
