“She Was an Obstacle to Our Affair”: Telangana Woman, Lover Kill 2-Year-Old Daughter

The CSR Journal Magazine

In a heart-wrenching incident from Telangana’s Medak district, a two-year-old girl was allegedly killed by her mother Mamatha and her lover Fayaz, police said on Friday. The duo reportedly saw the child as an “obstacle” to their relationship and decided to eliminate her.

The case came to light after Mamatha’s father lodged a complaint with police, reporting the child missing. Based on the complaint, investigators tracked Mamatha and Fayaz to Narasaraopet in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. After being taken into custody and brought back to Medak, the couple allegedly confessed to the crime.

Body Buried

According to officials, the duo admitted to murdering the child and burying her near a stream on the outskirts of their village. Police later exhumed the decomposed body in the presence of officials. A detailed investigation is underway to establish the full sequence of events and motives.

Similar Incident

In a separate tragedy, a 29-year-old woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district allegedly strangled her three daughters before taking her own life. The incident took place earlier this week in Tikri town.

The woman, identified as Tej Kumari alias Maya, reportedly had repeated arguments with her husband, Vikas Kashyap, over his refusal to communicate and not enrolling their children in a private school. In a moment of despair, she allegedly killed her daughters, aged four months, two years, and seven years.

Body found Hanging

Maya was later found hanging from the ceiling fan inside their house. Her husband, who works as a tourist bus operator in Delhi, was reportedly sleeping outdoors under a tree when the tragedy unfolded.

Neighbours became suspicious and alerted police, who broke into the house and discovered the bodies. Authorities have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination and launched a formal investigation.
