A 30-year-old man has been taken into custody in relation to the tragic death of a 15-year-old girl, who reportedly fell from the fourth storey of a building in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. This incident occurred at approximately 10 pm on July 15, just days after the victim resisted the man’s advances and allegedly slapped him. The accused, identified as Shanawaz, is alleged to have pushed the girl from the building before fleeing the scene.

Victim’s Family Account

The victim’s mother provided a detailed account of the circumstances surrounding her daughter’s death. She stated that her daughter had gone out to purchase milk from a nearby store when Shanawaz allegedly abducted her. After taking her to the fourth floor of a nearby building, he reportedly pushed her, resulting in the fatal fall. The mother has also indicated that this was not an isolated incident, claiming Shanawaz had been stalking and harassing her daughter for weeks prior to the tragedy.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, the mother mentioned that her daughter had faced persistent threats from Shanawaz, even after confronting him a few days prior to the incident. This confrontation, which involved the girl slapping him during a verbal altercation, was allegedly met with escalated intimidation.

Law Enforcement Response

Following the incident, local police began an investigation, which ultimately led to Shanawaz’s arrest. The authorities have invoked Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), classifying the case as murder, along with other relevant legal provisions. Investigators are actively working to ascertain the full circumstances that led to the girl’s fall.

The victim’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination as part of the formal investigation process, aimed at gathering more insights into the events that transpired on that night.
