SIT and Local Teams Mobilised to Apprehend Suspects in Twisha Sharma Case: Madhya Pradesh Police

In a significant development regarding the Twisha Sharma death case, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed and is actively working alongside local police units to apprehend the alleged culprits. This announcement was made by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rajnish Kashyap Kaul during an interaction with ANI.

ACP Kaul confirmed that formal correspondence has been initiated with both the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) office and the Regional Passport Office to facilitate a lookout notice aimed at ensuring that the accused do not manage to flee the country. He stated, “Necessary correspondence has been initiated with the DCP office, Bhopal Commissionerate, and the Regional Passport Office.”

Efforts to Apprehend the Prime Accused

Efforts are being intensified to track down the prime suspect, Samarth Singh, who is reportedly wanted in connection with the case. A reward of Rs 10,000 has been announced for information leading to his arrest. ACP Kaul detailed that multiple police teams have been deployed to locate and detain Singh, stating, “Our SIT team, along with local teams, is actively engaged in the investigation.”

The police have incorporated a dual approach by gathering intelligence through both technical means and human sources. This strategy aims to enhance the efficiency of the operation to capture the suspect as swiftly as possible. The DCP has also taken steps to make the reward public as part of this strategic effort.

In addition to the active pursuit of Singh, the authorities are implementing measures to prevent any potential flight risk. The police have communicated with the passport office to ensure that constitutionally mandated actions are underway for the accused. ACP Kaul confirmed that investigative work is being driven by a total of six dedicated teams.

Circumstances Surrounding Twisha Sharma’s Death

Twisha Sharma, aged 33 and originally from Noida, was married to Bhopal resident Samarth Singh in December 2025. She was reported dead on May 12, and her family has made serious allegations against her in-laws, claiming mental torture and harassment relating to dowry. Following her death, the police registered a case and promptly established the Special Investigation Team to conduct a thorough inquiry.

The ongoing investigation is taking into account the claims made by Sharma’s family, which include accusations of abuse and harassment that they allege contributed to her untimely demise. The case has attracted significant attention, prompting authorities to act decisively to ensure an effective investigation process.
