On the occasion of the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor (May 7), the second edition of Joint Commanders’ Conference themed ‘Military Capability in New Domains’ was organized in Jaipur on May 7 and 8. In this conference Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan are participating.
At a time when technology is shaping warfare, the meeting is seen as an important event. In the current situation when artificial intelligence is taking over traditional ways, through this meeting it is evident that Indian armed forces are preparing for the emerging domains such as cyber, space, and cognitive warfare.
Building a resilient and future-ready military
Officials are seeing this meeting as an important platform to evaluate the new emerging threats and also prepare and make a roadmap for building a resilient and future-ready military. Officials shared that the key discussion points will be around the accelerating indigenisation and strengthening the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative making innovation and enhancing civil-military collaboration. From next-generation applications developed by armed forces to advanced technologies, during the meeting everything would be explored. It is expected that modern warfare concepts and operational strategies would be discussed. This is seen as India’s commitment to modernising defence capabilities.
