The accused have been identified as Sonali Hinge, a member of the Damini squad known for her substantial presence on Instagram, alongside Police Sub-Inspector Ajit Bade and Constable Sudam Tayade. According to reports, they targeted the principal, aged 55, claiming that they would file a case against him unless he complied with their demands.

Sources within the police state that the accused allegedly visited the principal at his school under the guise of educating students about “good touch, bad touch.” During this visit, they purportedly threatened him with arrest and public humiliation, employing their official positions to instil fear and coerce him into paying the money to prevent further legal complications.

Principal’s Response and Complaint

Initially, the school principal complied with the demands made by the accused, fearing for his reputation and potential legal repercussions. It has been reported that he paid the Rs 7 lakh as part of what he believed was a settlement to avoid any false allegations against him. However, after some time, he began to doubt the legitimacy of the situation.

Realising that he had been misled, the principal decided to approach senior police officials. He presented his concerns about the threats he faced and the payment made to the trio. This led to a formal investigation initiated by the senior police officers, who took the allegations seriously.

Following the principal’s complaint, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar ordered an investigation into the matter. The police department has stated that they are taking all necessary steps to ensure that the case is thoroughly examined and justice is served. Upon preliminary inquiries, a case was officially registered against the three accused police personnel.

Positions of the Accused Personnel

Ajit Bade, one of the accused, is currently serving at the Cyber Police Station in Pune. Meanwhile, Sonali Hinge and Sudam Tayade are attached to the Shivajinagar Police Station. Their positions as police officers add a layer of complexity to the case, given the breach of trust involved in their actions.

The repercussions of this incident could lead to serious disciplinary actions against the accused if found guilty. Police officials have emphasised the importance of maintaining integrity and public trust in law enforcement agencies and have reassured the public that any wrongdoing will be addressed appropriately.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to gather more evidence to substantiate the claims made by the school principal. The case has attracted attention due to the involvement of a social media influencer, raising questions about the conduct of public officials and the implications of their actions on community trust.
