The news was officially communicated by actor and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, via his social media account. Kalyan expressed his sorrow, stating, “I am deeply saddened to learn that the mother of the renowned actor Shri @prakashraaj, Smt. Suvarnalatha Garu, has passed away. I pray to the Almighty that her soul attains eternal peace. I extend my deepest condolences to Shri Prakash Raj Garu, who is grieving the loss of his mother, and to all the members of his family.”

Former Member of the Legislative Assembly, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, also conveyed his sympathies on social media, remarking, “I was deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of Suvarnalatha ji, mother of prominent actor Sri Prakash Raj. I pray for her soul to rest in peace. I extend my heartfelt condolences to Prakash Raj and his family members during this difficult time.”

Health Struggles of Suvarnalatha

Prakash Raj had previously spoken about his mother’s health challenges, which included the presence of a brain cyst that necessitated surgical intervention. Following the surgery, she experienced significant memory loss, impairing her ability to recognize close family members. During the International Symposium on Dementia in 2018, the actor elaborated, “She was not an Alzheimer’s patient, but she had a cyst in her brain. Three days after the surgery, she forgot her sister and her son. I shuddered at the thought of my mother forgetting everything.” He shared his attempts to help her through these times by inviting her old school friends to interact with her, emphasizing the emotional toll of her illness.

Prakash Raj’s Recent Work

On the professional front, Prakash Raj recently appeared in the Hindi film “Tere Ishk Mein,” where he played the role of Dhanush’s father. He is slated to feature next in the political action drama “Jana Nayagan,” which is set to be actor Vijay’s final film. The release of this film had faced delays due to censorship issues, and a new release date is yet to be announced.
