The CSR Journal Magazine

The Redmi K100 is scheduled for launch on October 28, 2026, as the latest addition to the K100 series, which already includes the K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max models released in China in August. The company has been actively promoting the device online, generating excitement among potential buyers by revealing its design and key specifications. As the launch date approaches, additional details have emerged from a recent Geekbench listing, which has provided insights into the smartphone’s performance capabilities.

Performance Specifications and Features

The Geekbench listing for the Redmi K100 indicates that the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, confirmed by the brand. This chipset, identified by the model number Xiaomi M786BC, is expected to deliver impressive performance, as evidenced by the Geekbench 7 scores of 2,705 in single-core tests and 9,885 in multi-core tests. Furthermore, the device is anticipated to feature 16GB of RAM and run on HyperOS 4, despite the listing mentioning Android 17.

In terms of processing power, the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip includes two high-performance cores clocked at 4.32GHz and six efficiency cores operating at 3.53GHz, complemented by an Adreno 830 GPU. This configuration is similar to last year’s Redmi K90, which also utilised the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The performance metrics suggest that the Redmi K100 will cater to users seeking a high-performance device for gaming and multitasking.

The smartphone’s display is another highlight, featuring a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 165Hz and a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. This high refresh rate is reportedly compatible with over 40 gaming titles, enhancing the user experience for gamers. Additionally, the device will incorporate a dedicated D2 display chip to further optimise gaming performance.

Battery and Camera Features

The Redmi K100 places significant emphasis on battery life, equipped with an impressive 10,000mAh battery, which surpasses the capacities of its higher-end counterparts, the K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max, which feature batteries of 8,580mAh and 9,070mAh, respectively. This substantial battery capacity is designed to meet the demands of users who require extended usage without frequent recharging.

In addition to its battery, the smartphone will include a 50-megapixel main camera, which is expected to deliver high-quality photography capabilities. The device will also feature an in-display fingerprint sensor for enhanced security and an IP68 rating, ensuring resistance to dust and water. These features position the Redmi K100 as a versatile option for both casual users and photography enthusiasts.

The device will be available in various colours, including Firefly Green, appealing to a wide range of consumer preferences. Pre-orders for the smartphone have already commenced in China ahead of the official launch event. Reports suggest that the starting price for the Redmi K100 could be approximately 3,500 yuan, translating to around Rs 49,566 in India, making it an attractive option in the competitive smartphone market.
