PM Modi Encourages Social Media Engagement Among New BJP Office-Bearers

The CSR Journal Magazine

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised the importance of social media engagement during a meeting with the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) newly appointed national office-bearers. This gathering, which took place at the party headquarters in New Delhi, lasted approximately four-and-a-half hours and marked their inaugural meeting since the announcement of the 65-member organisational team on August 17.

During the session, Prime Minister Modi congratulated each member and expressed his best wishes for their roles. He highlighted the necessity for the leaders to harness social media platforms effectively to connect with younger demographics and disseminate the party’s messages widely.

Informal discussions were held over tea, allowing office-bearers to share their ideas and viewpoints. A group photograph was taken to commemorate the occasion, followed by a meal featuring millet-based dishes, adding a relaxed atmosphere to the significant meeting.

BJP Expands ‘Yuva Samvad’ Initiative

The focus on social media aligns with the BJP’s strategy to amplify its ‘Yuva Samvad’ initiative, aimed at cultivating ongoing engagement with young people. Earlier in the day, BJP president Nitin Nabin led a meeting with new office-bearers, where discussions included organisational strategies, forthcoming Assembly elections, grassroots outreach, and the communication of government initiatives.

Reports indicate that the BJP plans to launch substantial youth outreach programmes targeting individuals aged 14 and above, particularly focusing on Generation Z and Generation Alpha. The party is also assembling dedicated teams of senior leaders from across the nation to support these outreach efforts.

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha is set to play a crucial role in constituting and mobilising these teams, while previous national office-bearers will also contribute significantly to the initiative.

Modi Holds Additional Strategic Meetings

In separate meetings at the party headquarters, Prime Minister Modi consulted with key figures including Nitin Nabin, BL Santosh, and Shivkumar. Discussions with Nabin centred around potential candidates for the BJP Parliamentary Board, with announcements regarding new members anticipated soon.

The agenda also addressed preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections and measures to fortify the BJP’s grassroots organisation. On the following day, Nabin is scheduled to chair another organisational review meeting at the BJP headquarters extension, involving state BJP presidents, organisational general secretaries, and state in-charges from across India.

This meeting aims to evaluate electoral preparations in states such as Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab, along with discussing party programmes and broader organisational issues.

New Organisational Team and Resolution on Vande Mataram

Following the meeting, Prime Minister Modi shared on X that these organisational meetings focus on generating new ideas and perspectives intended to strengthen the party and enhance its connection with the populace. The newly formed 65-member team includes notable individuals like former Union minister Smriti Irani and RSS national executive member Ram Madhav, both of whom have resumed significant organisational roles.

In another development, the BJP passed a resolution in strong opposition to the Congress Working Committee’s decision to perform only the first two stanzas of Vande Mataram during party events. The resolution asserts that the BJP will not accept any compromises concerning the honour and heritage of the national song for political expediency.

BJP president stated that a political compromise from 1937 cannot supersede the constitutional agreement established in 1950 and the legislation enacted by Parliament in 2026.
