The announcement stated, “Aata marocchu kaani, monagadu mathram maradu,” signifying that while the game may change, the champion remains consistent.

Film’s Theatrical Success and Box Office Earnings

Upon its release in theatres on June 4, 2026, Peddi attracted considerable attention, drawing large audiences despite receiving mixed reviews. The film features an ensemble cast including Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, Boman Irani, and Ravi Kishan. According to sources, the film grossed an impressive Rs 338.98 crore worldwide, of which Rs 286 crore was earned in India.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi is described as a sports drama that also sparked discussions over Janhvi Kapoor’s character. Despite the divisive opinions surrounding the film, it solidified its position as one of the biggest commercial successes of the year.

The music and background score for Peddi were composed by Grammy and Oscar-winning artist A.R. Rahman, further adding to the film’s appeal. The combination of a strong cast, direction, and music contributed significantly to its box office phenomenon.

Behind-the-Scenes Challenges and Ram Charan’s Dedication

The success celebration of Peddi included remarks from veteran actor Chiranjeevi, who highlighted the challenges faced during production. He disclosed that Ram Charan sustained a serious eye injury while filming an action sequence, requiring eight stitches for recovery. Chiranjeevi emphasised the gravity of the injury, noting that the outcome could have been much more severe had it occurred slightly lower.

Praising his son’s commitment to the project, Chiranjeevi shared insights into Ram Charan’s rigorous preparation. He described his son’s daily routine which involved waking up at 4 am for training before heading to the film sets. This dedication, according to Chiranjeevi, speaks volumes about Ram Charan’s work ethic, especially considering his position in the industry.

Chiranjeevi expressed admiration for Ram Charan’s perseverance and hard work, recognising that the young actor could have easily opted for a less strenuous path due to his background. He stated that while many would assume that Ram Charan’s career would come easily, it is his commitment and passion that have set him apart.

As Peddi transitions into the digital space, its diverse viewer base is expected to explore the film’s elaborate storytelling and character arcs. The film’s imminent release on Netflix underscores the growing significance of OTT platforms in the entertainment landscape.
