Sattu Gains Popularity During Hot Weather

Residents have emphasised the importance of consuming cooling beverages that help the body cope with such high temperatures. According to locals, Sattu offers benefits beyond mere refreshment; it also provides the necessary stamina to endure outdoor activities in the harsh sun. Many individuals have expressed how crucial it is to keep hydrated and maintain well-being during this weather.

Sudheer Kumar, a Sattu vendor, shared insights during a recent interview, noting that his stall attracts thousands of customers daily during the summer months. “Even on a Sunday, we see around 500 visitors. On weekdays, the numbers are even higher. People appreciate Sattu because it keeps the stomach cool and boosts energy levels,” he remarked. His stall, known as Bhola ji, sells each glass of Sattu for just 15 rupees, making it an accessible choice for many.

Sudheer added that the positive feedback from customers is a testament to Sattu’s effectiveness in providing relief from the heat. Offering Sattu made with RO water, he noted the beverage has achieved a reputation for keeping patrons satisfied throughout the sweltering days.

Health Benefits of Sattu Highlighted by Residents

Local resident Munna Sharma highlighted the drink’s benefits, particularly during extreme heat. He described Sattu as being essential for health, stating that it functions similarly to glucose in replenishing energy. “With rising temperatures, it is vital for everyone to consume Sattu. It helps keep the body healthy,” he said, stressing the importance of staying hydrated and maintaining internal cooling.

Another customer, Raja, echoed these sentiments, advising individuals to limit their outdoor activities during the heatwave. “It is critical to go outside only when necessary,” he explained. He insisted that Sattu is particularly beneficial because it increases water levels in the body, providing much-needed relief from the warmer weather.

As the heat continues to rise, the community’s reliance on traditional remedies like Sattu underscores the importance of cultural practices in coping with extreme weather. This old-fashioned drink not only serves to hydrate but also connects residents to their heritage during challenging times.
