Patiala Tragedy: Property Dealer Kills Wife and Son, Dies by Suicide

 In a disturbing incident that happened late Sunday, a property dealer, 45, shot himself and his wife and son in Patiala district. As per police, a pistol was recovered from SUV, while the preliminary investigation suggests that it was a suicide.

The family hails from Sikhwala village in Bathinda, and for the past eight months, they had been living in Mohali. While the victim Rajpal’s brother stays in the village, his sister resides abroad. Rajpal had their business in Sector 109, Mohali, and the victims have been identified as Sandeep Singh Rajpal, his wife Mandeep Kaur, 42, and their son Abhay Singh, 15. Preliminary investigations suggest that the three of them were in their car in Patiala when Rajpal shot his wife, then son, before shooting himself. Authorities have confirmed that the victim Abhay Singh had long been battling mental health challenges.

The vehicle was found parked near Changeran in a field, and the bodies lying in a pool of blood were identified by farmers, who immediately informed the police. Later, the bodies were sent for post-mortem to Neelam Hospital in Dera Bassi.

DSP Manjit Singh said, “While the incident appears to be a suicide, all angles are being thoroughly investigated.”
